WEEK 6 Field trip
3 pieces of art seen during the field trip
1. HATE/LOVE 2006. two black hands one with the word HATE wrote across the knuckles and the second with word LOVE wrote across the knuckles.
Although the piece of art had the words HATE and LOVE it was the word HATE which stood out the most
I disliked this piece of work
2. Snowdrop: this was a simple piece of art work depicting a white flower, however it also resembled a lamp.
As the flower also resembled a lamp it reminded me that flowers require light and sunshine to grow .
I liked this piece of art work for its simplicity.
3. This piece of art was untitled. it was two menu boards the first had the words DINNER with the word FEAR underneath. the second had the word BREAKFAST with the word HOPE underneath. the words were written on a black background with white writing and the words looked like they were stuck on the board.
the words reminded me that you can be full of hope in the morning and by dinner time it can change to fear.
I liked this piece for its simplicity of words .
I enjoyed this field trip as I experienced many types of art work. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor art, where the little girl in the foreground was smaller than the axe in the background, this seemed to be in contradiction of what we would expect to see . it was very cleverly done .
